👤 The Person Behind The Code

About Mike

I was afraid for all my life. Right up until I decided to stop waiting and start building. That was when I realized — as terrifying and painful as the real world can be, it's also the only place where you can create something that actually matters. I don't just build websites or write code. I build worlds. I build technology for others to live, work, and grow inside of. So I built anyway. And I haven't stopped since.

What I Do

The four areas I work in — and keep getting better at.

💻

Software Development

Building responsive, accessible, and performant web applications from the ground up. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React — always learning, always shipping.

🤖

AI & Automation

Designing and deploying AI-powered tools that solve real problems — from conversational assistants to automated email and data workflows. I believe AI should serve people, not replace them.

🔐

Cybersecurity & Secure Development

Building with security in mind — from careful handling of data and access to tools like SafeScan AI, a Python tool that runs Nmap scans and turns the results into plain-English security reports. Practical, defensive security, without the hype.

🌐

Web / Systems Development

Websites, progressive web apps, and connected systems — from client sites to full-stack apps with sign-in and cloud data sync.

The Origin

I didn't come from a traditional tech background. I came from curiosity, necessity, and a refusal to stay stuck. I taught myself to code because I had problems I needed to solve — and once I started, I couldn't stop.

Over time, one skill turned into many. Web development led to AI. IT led to cybersecurity. None of it was planned. All of it was intentional.

Today I build technology for real organizations, real clients, and real people — websites that perform, tools that work, and systems that last. Based in Chillicothe, serving businesses across Central Ohio, throughout Ohio, and remotely.

Professional & Internal Tools

Tools I've built in a professional role — separate from Stark Tech Studios client work.

🤖

AI-Assisted Safety Knowledge Tool

A conversational AI assistant that gives people quick access to workplace safety information — built with care, with a focus on fast, accurate guidance.

🎓

Training & Certification Workflow

An interactive web-based training tool that guides people through certification steps with visual instructions and progress tracking.

📊

Employee Onboarding Experience

A fully designed, modern new-hire onboarding experience that replaced outdated materials with an engaging, professional digital presentation.

👥

Internal Team Directory Tools

Dynamic team profile pages that help staff connect with colleagues — complete with roles, contact info, and department details.

📡

Real-Time Engagement Tool

A real-time polling tool built for meetings and training sessions — live results, clean UI, and zero setup required for participants.

What I Believe

🌍

Build for People

Technology should solve real problems for real humans. Every project I take on starts with the question: who does this serve, and how does it make their life better?

⚡

Build Anyway

Fear doesn't go away. You build through it. Every project I've shipped, I was scared. That never stopped me — and it never will.

🔄

Never Stop Growing

The best version of any skill is the one you haven't reached yet. I'm always learning, always experimenting, always one project away from a breakthrough.
